Summer Programmer

Term: Seasonal Job
Morden Community Services department is looking for an enthusiastic and energetic person to plan, promote and implement high quality summer programming for the City of Morden. The Summer Programmer will connect well with the children in these programs and provide a safe, fun and nurturing environment.

Responsibilities:

· Plan and implement summer day camps
· Oversee Summer Program Assistants to help lead programs
· Work with marketing lead to promote summer programs & registration dates
· Become the main contact for registration and summer programs
· Assist in planning larger events in the community including Paddlefest and Canada Day
· Assist in engaging the community in recreation (open to individual creativity)
· Keep recreation equipment organized and update inventory list
· Other tasks as assigned by the Recreation Programmer

Qualifications:

· Good Communication skills
· Experience working with children
· Good Leadership skills
· Ability to work well in a busy environment
· Team Player
· Positive Role Model
· Good organization skills
· Current Criminal Record & Child Abuse Registry Check
· Current First Aid & CPR Certification or willing to obtain

Working Hours:

Typical working hours are Monday- Friday daytime. Flexibility to hours can be arranged throughout May/June. Some evenings and weekends will be required for special events/programs. Season: May – August
