Arbor Day is an annual event that promotes tree planting and appreciation of trees. In Morden It's celebrated in June, and it's always been a popular way for communities to come together to celebrate trees. In addition to being fun and inspiring, Arbor Day serves an important purpose: it helps us remember how important our environment is to our health and well-being. Trees are part of what makes Earth such a wonderful place!

This event, held on the Friday after Remembrance Day, is full of charm and holiday spirit. Santa arrives at the Civic Centre leading the Winter Parade and waves to all the people gathered to see him. On the street just outside you’ll find cozy bonfires, marshmallows and hot chocolate with holiday music in the background. The event ends with a tree-lighting countdown followed by fireworks.
The City of Morden is located on Treaty No. 1 territory, the traditional lands of the Anishinaabe, Cree, Oji-Cree, and Dakota Nations, as well as the National Homeland of the Red River Métis. We honour their contributions to the past, present, and future. We express our gratitude for the land and water that sustains us, and we commit to learning from and working in partnership with the original caretakers of this territory.
