The City of Morden, RM of Stanley, and the City of Winkler are pleased to announce a collaborative effort to explore the feasibility of processing a portion of Morden’s wastewater effluent at Winkler’s upgraded Wastewater Treatment Facility (WWTF) on a temporary basis.
The Study aims to determine the feasibility of a temporary connection from Morden through the RM of Stanley to the Winkler WWTF site. Should the project be deemed feasible, the three municipalities will work together to plan for a connection. It is important to note even if the project is feasible, the Winkler WWTF must be fully commissioned (in 2026) before it can accept any effluent volumes from the City of Morden.
A temporary solution would enable the City of Morden to continue to grow while they work towards their long-term solution. The City of Winkler and RM of Stanley are committed to supporting the City of Morden as they work on wastewater solutions.
We strongly believe that the strength and growth of each of our municipalities are essential for the success of our region.
