The City of Morden has updated its Traffic By-Law 07-2024 regarding snow-related parking restrictions to improve snow-clearing efficiency while providing greater flexibility for residents.
Previously, on-street parking was prohibited citywide from October 1 – April 30. Under the amended by-law, parking restrictions will only be enforced when a Snow Route Parking Restriction (Ban) is declared by the City’s Designated Officer or their delegate.
Key Changes to the By-Law:
- A Snow Route Parking Restriction will only be issued when required for snow clearing.
- The City will provide 24 hours notice before restrictions take effect.
- Notices will be communicated via the City of Morden website, social media, and local radio.
- Restrictions may apply citywide or to specific areas as needed.
- Enforcement and penalties will follow Section 9 of the by-law.
