Morden Community Services department is looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic person to schedule, promote and implement high quality swim programming for the City of Morden at Lake Minnewasta. The Aquatic Programmer will become the leader of our small team of swim staff and provide a safe, fun and nurturing environment for staff and participants.
Responsibilities:
· Instruct Lifesaving Society Swim Lessons· Evaluate performance of swimmers and complete reports
· Schedule swim programs
· Oversee Swim Staff including regular meetings
· Work with marketing lead to promote swim programs
· Monitor the beach and educate the public on water safety
· Keep swim equipment clean and organized
· Assist in planning larger events in the community
· Other tasks as assigned by the Recreation Programmer
Qualifications:
· Swim for Life or Lifesaving Instructor Certification· Standard First Aid & CPR/AED Level C Certification
· Current Criminal Record & Child Abuse Registry Check
· National Lifeguard Certification is an asset
· Previous Swim lesson instructing experience
· Good Communication skills
· Experience working with children
· Good Leadership skills
· Ability to work well in a busy environment
· Positive Role Model
· Good organization skills
Working Hours:
Typical working hours are Monday- Friday daytime. Flexibility to hours can be arranged throughout May/June. Some evenings and weekends may be required for special events. Season: May – Mid-AugustApplication Deadline:
