Tax Statements will be mailed out in June each year. Tax statements are mailed according to the latest available owner(s) on record in spring. New property owners are reminded that they are responsible for the payment of their property taxes whether or not they receive a notice in their name. Taxes are due last business day of August each year. If you do not receive a statement, please contact the City of Morden Tax Clerk at 204-822-4434 or email info@mymorden.ca.
If you have recently constructed or removed a taxable building, a supplemental tax notice will be mailed to you at a later date. Depending on the completion date of the construction you may receive a tax bill for both the previous and current year.
Supplemental property tax statements are mailed in October and are due on the last business day of November of each year, approximately.
We accept cash, cheque or debit. If paying by debit, ensure you have set up the necessary limit with your bank.
Property taxes can be paid in person at the Morden Civic Centre, by mail, through the pre-authorized payment plan and online. Payment methods include cash and post-dated cheques. The City does not accept payment by credit card.
Post-dated cheques. Cheques post-dated for the due date or earlier are accepted. Receipts can be re-printed upon request.
24-hour Drop off. Include the bottom portion of your tax bill with your payment. The drop box is located at the main entrance of the Civic Centre. It is not advised to put cash in the drop box.
Online. When adding the City of Morden as a payee, search “Morden” or “town of Morden”, and select the Taxes option. Your account number is your roll number. Enter the 7 digits of the roll number. If your bank requires 8 digits add a 0 to the front. Do not enter the decimal.
Payments will be applied to the tax account as it is entered by the user. It is therefore important to ensure the roll number (s) you have set up on your bank payment profile is the same roll number(s) that appear on your tax bill(s).
If you own more than one property, you need to make payments on each roll number separately when paying through online banking.
Pre-authorized Payment Plan. This plan allows taxpayers to have payments automatically withdrawn on the last business day of each month, or to pre-authorize a single annual payment, equal to the balance due on your property tax statement, on the tax due date in August. To apply, complete this application form, and return it with a VOID sample cheque. Send your completed application to our office at the Civic Centre or email it to info@mymorden.ca
Mail. Along with the bottom portion of the tax statement, cheques can be made payable to the City of Morden and mailed to 100-195 Stephen St., Morden, MB, R6M 1V3
